Latex Free Elastic Bands 2.5 x 1/8” (pk1020)

The use of these bands is so unlimited, here is just a few ideas:
Hand surgery - during hand surgery a piece of linen is rolled to give
a 2” diameter pad that fits the palm of the hand to support the hand
when placed on the table palm down The roll must be sterile so the
band is placed around it to hold it together during autoclaving prior to
use.
Securing instruments - an elastic band can be used to secure long
instruments that need to be bound for storage. The use of non-latex
free band can cause problems for patients with latex allergies. The
latex free bands can remain on the product during autoclaving.
Flap retention - used when skin is cut and folded back to allow access
to blood vessels. The bands are placed on the skin retractors and
fastened to a suitable linen point to maintain tension.
Bundling of arterial forceps - in head surgery many small blood
vessels are clamped off using arterial forceps. This may involve 6-8
forceps, and to prevent them impeding work they are bundled together
with a band to keep them out of the area where the operation is being
done.
Hair tie - can be used to keep patients hair out of the way during an operation.
